I had a power surge over the weekend and now none of my USB ports are working and I keep getting a popup message that my USB hub has had a power surge. Those on the rear of my board as well as those additional pinned outputs on the board. Bios looks good no appearent change there. Everything else seems to be working. I suppose the board is fried
One option is to install a board into your PCI slot. It will give you a few USBs in the back, and most models have internal connector so you can reconnect the front ones to the PCI card instead of the mobo.
If everything else is working fine, you can save yourself the expense of a new computer and just go buy a PCI USB card for ~20 dollars. If you're comfortable installing, you can do it yourself or ask a local computer shop or chain to do it for you.
