I had a spa installed by an electrician. In wiring the spa he ran a 220 power supply to the spa. At first there was no power. I had to call him back and he figured out the breaker was bad. The water was on going to the spa. When he said to hit the power button on the TR002Y panel I did. It came on said 56 degrees then shut off. It would not come back on. He said he knew nothing about this and left. I got really frustrated by this and got the book out. It said it needed a 110 power supply not 220. I called him back and he installed the right breaker, receptacle, and plug. The steam generator still won't power up. I am wondering if the thing has a fuse that could have blown. It did not smell like it burned up. It simply just cut off with the wrong power supply was hooked up to it. Can someone tell me if we have to replace a fuse or reset it somehow?
This may not be the answer you want to hear but I have had much experience with electricians as a General Contractor. I know a thing or two about wiring. I have no idea how he accomplished this where he hooked the other hot leg to. I do know that the electronics are sensitive. My advise is do nothing get a qualified whirlpool service guy. This is the reason why, if you do anything you will void the warranty. If it comes to the understanding that it was the electrician fault and warranty will not cover you can go back onto the electrician. However, if you do anything he could say it was caused by you. I feel the problem is going to be the electricians problem. Any more info as far as trip fuses would need to know the model of the whirlpool which you can comment back with. Thanks for using Fixya. Good Luck. Jeff
Good Evening again, this what I have found on the TR002Y Steam Generator. It is put out by Bathtek which is still a European company. What I know of electronics from Europe is that most times there is a switch that has to be moved to accomodate the 110 style of wiring or something changed. Unfortunately I haven't found that information yet will still look, However, like I said on my profile 2 minds are better than One so here is the web site in which the TR002Y Steam Generator can be found. You can send an email to them directly. Meanwhile I will continue to look myself. Jeff
