I had white smoke come from under the hood what"s wrong ?? It's a 2005 cadillac srx
We had drove the car most of the day and had stopped and shut it off . It was off about 5 to 10 mins. They white smoke came from under the hood.There where no check engine lights that came on until after the smoke.The car was running great all day.

One of the main causes of white exhaust smoke and coolant loss is a cracked or warped cylinder head, a cracked engine block, or head gasket failure caused by overheating. A cracked head may allow coolant to leak into one or more cylinders or into the combustion chamber of the engine.
If the check engine light comes on you can go to an Autozone and they will tell you what the check engine code is,
