I hadn't used my mp3 player for a long time. When i went to use it all my music was gone and when I tried to download new songs it would not work. Is the player broke for good?

It will be good only...If it has a memory card separately connect it to a card reader and try to copy the songs that way from computer and check is it working..
If it is a internally built memory then reset the mp3 player..
By the way how long you didnt use it?
