I have 1995 Subaru legacy GT with the 2 litre Boxer 2-stage twin turbo engine. My garage said my car needs a 'knock sensor'. I have a second non-running car the same and I want to get the knock sensor off this one to save cash. My garage mechanic said I need to remove the 'inter-cooler' (2nd radiator on top of engine block beneath bonnet air scoop?) to reach it - but how do i get this thing off??? Thanks!!!
Hi! There are hoses that attaches to the intercooler radiator. Usually it has only metal fittings that can be loosen by using a screwdriver. Remove those hoses and remove the bolts that attaches the turbo intercooler. By then you can have access to the sensor. Repeat in reverse order on putting up things together again. Hope this helps and have a good one!
