I have 2003 rav 4, the steering went stiff and the battery light came on. We have replaced the battery today and it is still the same. I also notice the it is only blowing out cold air even though I had it on hot

Could be a Bad alternator, that powers everything after the vehicle is started by the battery, there are many other possible problems tho? and the heat issue would probably be unrelated ? The radiator and cooling system heat the car, if the blower motor is running properly ? Need more info....
