I agree with answer #1. But with the milage aspect, I would recommend having the entire trans overhauled. Given time and wear and tear, seals inside the transmission that helps with the hydraulic actuations to help the trans perform its functions, start to leak internally therefore causing drivability issues like what you are experiencing. Sometimes performing a transmission flush may do more harm than good due to old seals being washed out. If you decide keeping the car for a while, it might be a good investment to completely overhaul transmission. Your LT1 5.7L V8 is a very strong and long lasting engine under correct maint. Hope this helps you out on your decision and question.
Could your problem be as simple as a clutch / Pressure Plate
It sounds like your 2nd gear accumulator is sticking. I'd take it to a trans shop for service. This problem could end up damaging you second gear clutch pack. So, don't delay having it checked out.
Have you ever had the transmission fluid changed?
I have good luck with shifting issues using a product called "trans tune". It's made by Seafoam. Run it as directed then change the transmission fluid.
