I have a 12-cup DCC-1200 black & chrome Cuisinart coffee maker, like the one pictured below. Once every three weeks or so the brewing function goes into overdrive and, instead of brewing a pot of coffee, just keeps gurggling away frantically and, when it finally stops, the "coffee" produced is WAY too strong. I have in the past then used the self-cleaning function and, after a while, it's cleared up. But now it isn't. What to do?
It sounds like there's a problem with Charcoal Water Filter. What it does is it eliminates chlorine, calcium, bad tastes and odors on the brewed coffee. You can try to clean it manually or if that doesn't work, replacing that might fix the problem.
