I have a 12 year old RUUD heatpump model UJMAA048JK-549 that repeatedly trips the "High Head Pressure Limit" switch at 30 degree temperatures but works fine when the temperature isn't as cold. Is the pressure switch weak or bad because it has tripped so much or do I have a more serious problem?
ONLY 3 THINGS WILL CAUSE THIS 1) CLEAN THE OUTSIDE COILS WITH A COIL CLEANER AND A HOSE 2) THE FILTER IS DIRTY 3) THE UNIT IS OVER CHARGED IS THIS A SPLIT SYSTEM OR A WINDOW UNIT THE MOST LIKELY ARE 1&2
