I have a 150000 btu torpedo heater. When first turned on it runs great . If it is turned off for 10 or 15 mins. , it will not fire but just blow fumes and raw kerosene. If you wait a day it will fire perfectly an d run all day. What gives ?

This is a classic Reddy Heater problem. The pump pressure is very critical along with changing the filter. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4124129-yearly_maintenance_reddy_heaters which explains indetail what the problem is, how to solve it and where to get the parts.
