I have a 1985 mack r model with a mechanical 283 engine. Truck is over heating and has engine oil in cooling system. Last night I rebuilt the oil cooler and flushed the cooling system two times. Last night oil pressure was normal but today it's only about 5 pounds at idle, what's my next move?

Sounds as if you may have blown head gasket or cracked head. Try using a pressure gauge unit on radiator to see if pressure goes down, or try looking in radiator while running to see if bubbles appear. Either way, bad luck I'm afraid.
