I have a 1987 mercury cougar when you mash the gas peddle to the floor it start to spit and carry on but if you give it more gas it is ok could it be the ignition module
Cant see it being an ign. module. Sounds more like a coil, or a fuel problem. I'd say it sounds like a coil though. If the rotor or module look burned or corroded, I'd change them too Good luck, Cheers from Nova Scotia
