I have a 1988 dodge shadow 2.2L and it will start and rev to about or above 2000 rpms and when it tries to idle down it just dies. I replaced the iac and it ran fine until I powerwashed the engine bay out now it seems to do the same thing so I replace the iac again and the tps and the pickup coil and its still doing the same thing. I need help PLEASE Im losing my patience with this car
Sometimes the coolant sensor will cause this condition. It may be in advanced mode so when it's cool it wont idle properly. Also, try spraying the wires with a little silicone spray, the wires may have been affected by the powerwash. Good luck!
