So it dose not start. If so check for power at the ignition switch unplug the connector on the main trunk see if 12 v is getting their if power is their hook one lead black to ground and with the red probe the back of the connector that plugs into the ign switch as you run through the functions of the switch .So the switch is in ACC position dose the radio work in run dose the fuel pump work is start do you get power to the solenoid for the starting motor . Problems like this are not easy to track down you need to test and make sure the results of the tests are correct .And a lot of thinking about the problem and ware to test at the simplest point to get the best results for the least amount of work .
Have you run a fault code test to see if any thing shows up? You will need to know how to run an OBD1 test, it may require a special tool, not sure due to age of the vehicle
