I have a 1996 Geo Tracker 1.6 motor and it has a orange spark and will not start, I changed out the whole distributor and nothing changed, it was running fine besides if you pushed hard on gas it would bog down but when you let up on it it would speed up, then I ran out if gas and put gas back in it and drove it home like ten miles, then went to town and it started ideling rough and died and I restarted it still running rough and at the red light it died and hasn't started since, please help
You have probably torched the catalytic converter (they actually melt and become plugged up). No air flow now. Best way to check is pull the pre/foward 02 sensor. This will give breathing room for the engine. Also take out the air filter for good measure. Just remember, a one inch hole( the size of the 02 sensor, doesn't make up for the 2 inch hole for the exhaust). You will still have drivability problems. This may solve your problems, but there also could be more. Like , why did it melt to begin with?
I looked and it is not there, looks like someone weled a straight pipe there.I looked and it is not there, looks like someone weled a straight pipe there.
