Yes you can i preform this alot on these and the licoln town cars also. for the lincolns there a spring from a grand marque and for these you would just get the shock from gab or monroe that are for non air ride. how this awnsers your question and if you have nay more question please ask. thank you for using fixya.com
Yes , no matter what your suspension geometry will change if you change to conventional. Just be aware that you will also need caster and camber kits and a 4 wheel alignment. .
Have you had a shop look at this yet. The proper way to diagnose any issues with this system is what a Tech2 or equivalent scanner that can access the suspension system/
What is your actual complaint. If the air system was at fault you should have codes stored. If the coils are shot the car will sit low and the car will handle poorly.
If you have any balljoints loose no replacement parts will fix your problem until you have verified the balljoints are good.
Just note that regular shocks mount totally differnt than air shocks. If they sell an expensive kit then it possible but by going cheap you may have to fabricate some parts. NAPA offers a air shock replacement, that you convert over to a air valve ,that you air up to your comfort, and leave them there,no automatic adjustment,or air pump involved, just air them up to your liking, and leave it alone, but they do not make a regular replacement shock,or strut. They are made by monroe.
I am sorry, they do not make such animal,I know,I am a NAPA personel,we get this all the time,it is not bad,I think they are 90.00 a set,Tell the mechanic,to use the old feral nuts, and a air shock line kit, another 10 bucks, but works perfect,I fix the shops up with this around town, all the time.I am sorry, they do not make such animal,I know,I am a NAPA personel,we get this all the time,it is not bad,I think they are 90.00 a set,Tell the mechanic,to use the old feral nuts, and a air shock line kit, another 10 bucks, but works perfect,I fix the shops up with this around town, all the time.
