I have a 1998 gmc jimmy and we are replacing the front wheel bearing hub and have all nuts and bolts off and abs line off and it will not come off even with a light tap on the back with a hammer. Any suggestions? Brian
First off, don't beat on it, the bearing flange that is, you will notice that the bearing has a flange with three bolt holes in it, what I have done in the past is take a chisel or a pry bar and tap it in behind the flange just enough to get an opening, then do the same thing to the oppisite side of the flange. Keep working from side to side until you've got it out. it really isn't that bad to do after you've done a couple. best of luck always.

It will need a lot more than a light tap they are pressed into the knuckle.
