I have a 1998 oldsmobile intrigue 3.8 ltr. AC was blowing hot air. Vacumed system down. Now compressor wont start, wont take freon. Low pressure switch is not on receiver drier or firewall
It should still take refrigerant even if the compressor isn't running--but it'll be a LOT slower. Whatever you do, DON'T jumper across the low pressure switch. That'll start the compressor clutch and the system will run with low or no refrigerant. The refrigerant is what carries the oil, so it'll burn up the compressor.
