Hi Connie: The steering wheel lock is an integral part of the vehicle anti-theft security. The proper key for the ignition is the correct procedure. Any responsible FIXYA person will NOT tell you how to disable it as it would publicly inform dishonest persons as to how to be able to more easily steal vehicles. My suggestion for you would be to contact a dealer for your make and model, and get a replacement key. You will be required to provide proof of ownership. Cheers
