I have a 2000 302 ford exp motor, I have HO 4bbl intake, and pertronix dist, elect H2O, fuel, & fan.I want to put in 1966 mustang V8 car. What problem will I encounter with mating cam to distributor
I really don't think the transmission will fit there completely different and engine even if you take engine and transmission from the 66 you ll most likely have to weld in mounts then there's the drive shaft mating to the tail of the transmission //to long\\to short? Also motor mounts and oil pan may be different sump as for the distributor ask pentronix they are your best bet for info/// I don't know why your original motor is N/G but you can get it done with less headaches if it's the bottom part pull the engine and get it short blocked you can get a machine shop to bore it out and put in new OEM CYLINDERS so same combustion and they can resurface and grind the crankshaft then reinstall the crank and pistons and cam timing chain all you have to do is put the heads on //if it's the top you can do that in a few hours yourself to keep the cost down new valve springs cleaning but it's best to let a shop do it because new valve guides are a pain to install trying to ream them and the new installation is hard to get the measurements correct depending where you are and the machine shop you go to short block (depending on new or recycled parts $500.-$800 /// valve job $250- $400 plus head gaskets and fluids for completely getting it done and you save a good 66 motor but it's your call heads or tails good luck stephen
