Report "I have a 2000 BMW with a DEI Your Valet RPN 491 car alarm. The battery was replaced by the dealer and they also removed the panel for the car alarm and now the remote doesn't work. It won't lock the doors when the engine starts. I've looked other areas, and tried to do the reset by opening the door, pressing the valet switch and the lock button, but that doesn't work. The alarm will close the locks if I start the engine and press the lock button and it will also unlock the car by pressing the unlock button but when I shut the engine off - the remote doesn't work. The lights showing the alarm are off (red) are blinking. Can you help! I've taken it to CarToys and they were unable to do anything. Dealer now saying not his problem . . . the car still runs - thankfully, but I need my alarm to work. CarToys suggests buying a new remote. What do you think?"
