The computer should reset it when you turn the ignition on.Did you make sure the distance from the idle air motor housing to the end of the pintle was 1 1/2 inches before you installed it.Also did you check for vacuum leaks, clean the throttle body,or check for codes before you replaced the computer? What led you to replace the computer in the first place?Let me know.Good luck.
Your going to have to inspect the wiring from the idle air control valve to the computer.Check the terminal contact to make sure the terminals are making good contact. They make a tool for testing the idle air control valve.I don`t know if you have one or not. This would verify that the computer is doing it`s job and moving the valve in and out when you use the scan tool to command to run the rpm`s up or down. Also make sure the tamper plug did not get removed and someone turned the screw on the throttle body.Check and make sure the throttle plates are not sticking.Make sure the pcv valve is working properly.I`m assuming that you programmed the computer and relearned variation learn and idle air control. The other question is is this an after market pcm or factory? As far as the over heating check and make sure the intake gaskets are not bad and loosing coolant into the motor.
