I have a 2001 Buell Blast with just over 5,200 miles on it. I recently picked it up from the Harley shop from its 5,000 mile service. Then I drove it about 500 hundred miles and it started leaking oil from what looked like the oil tank. I took it back to Harley and the said it is the rocker box cap or seal I believe. The leak does seem to be coming from the rocker box when I shined my led light up in there. So I have started to get close to the rocker box. I am almost ready to take the gas tank off. Harley wanted too much money so i decided to get the parts and do it myself. Where should I go from here? Please help if you can, thank you for your time. Have a blessed day
Your first stop should be to AmericanSportbike.com, they sell the service manual, and possibly the gaskets too (Might need to call). Changing the gasket isn't hard, it will just be time consuming with all the disassembly, and the service manual will make sure you do it correctly. Good luck!
