I have a 2001 Expedition that will not go into gear when it's cold. The rpm's go up to 2000 when I start it for about 10 seconds then go down to 800 rpm's. When I shirt it into gear it will not move but the rpm's go up till I put it back into park or neutral. Does anybody know what the problem might be. Thanks

If it works fine when warm replace transmission filter and fluid. the filter is probably blocked and when cold gets no fluid through it. if this was helpful please leave good feed back
