I have a 2003 Dynasty and we're having an electrical problem that has just about puzzled everyone I've spoken with ! It all began over 2 years ago when I started the generator and the engine , to return up north to Canada , the inverter to began sound an alarm for about 2 minutes and it stopped ; by the way the inverter is a Xantrex 2000 Watts and the remote control is a Trace RC 7 GS . Has we travelled this scenario went on every 15 minutes . I contacted Xantrex by e-mail and described to them the situation with the " Error Code CHARGER Fault " They answered back to me saying ( the inverter has to be removed and sent to them for repair " So I decided to do some checking around with different peoples as well as trying different test and came to find out that with the engine and genset in the off position the inverter is acting normally ; turned the external power off and on to simulate a power failure ,everything operates as it should . In further digging I've come to realize that if I disconnect the external power and then start the main engine ,with the geny off , everything operates normally ; however if I turn the generator ON while the engine is running about 30 seconds and come the annoying buzzer the red error CHARGER FAULT ! So I got fed up and called the RV ( Specialist ) I asked him to remove the inverter and ship it to the authorized repair shop in Orlando Fl . A week went by , the repair shop had put my inverter on a test bench for 4 days ; their verdict was nothing was wrong with the inverter ! So we reinstalled the inverter back in its place and gave it another try ; no good same problem .The RV tech talk me into replacing the inverter with another brand , first with all the headaches I've gone true with this thing I agreed on the spur of the moment . After a reasoning this whole thing and based on the answer we got from the repair shop ;I said to myself even if we install a new one it's not going to solve the current problem ! So I decided cancel the proposal and dig in further. Yesterday I replaced the 2 batteries for the chassis since they were 6 years old ; then I started the engine so did the annoying buzzer and error charger fault . I then went outside and turn the auxiliary power breaker OFF I returned inside the coach and noticed the inverter was inverting all the power was normal lights and frig all ok . So turned the engine off and I went outside turned the auxiliary power breaker back ON and came back in the coach watch the inverter ,heard the transfer switch come on and after 30 sec the inverter went on standby mode . To this date no one has been able to precisely diagnose this problem . To sum it all up : When the Engine and the Generator are both operating , the Inverter goes into alarm mode with ERROR CODE CHARGER FAULT Engine in operation alone Inverter runs normally Generator in operation alone Inverter runs normally Sure wish someone could give me a clue in solving this issue . Thank you for having this opportunity to share my nightmare . By the HAPPY NEW YEAR to each and everyone Regards
