I have a 2003 Nissan Pulsar ST-L N16. After a period of driving at speed on the highway, on a number of occasions I have experienced situations where the engine cuts out for one or two seconds, revs drop to zero and then after a few seconds the power is restored. I have found that issue occurs mainly when I am running the air conditioner and have also noticed that when the air conditioner is on a ticking noise can be heard when I am stopped at the lights. My mechanic was unable to locate any faults when checking the computer so i am at a loss as to what is causing it. is it likely that the air conditioning is putting to much load causing the power loss?

Doubtful the ac is causing the problem, I would check all your grounds, engine to body momentary lose of good ground can cause such a problem
