I have a 2004 Raptor 660r. Battery is fully charged, new starter and starter relay. It tries to crank but drags really bad. It's like something is keeping it from spinning freely. Then the positive and negative cables get crazy hot, smoking etc... I checked valve gaps, and pulled crank cover and everything looks fine. I'm freaking stumped and frustrated. HELP PLEASE. Thanks in advance
Can you check battery voltage while pressing start button? Make sure it stays over 10 volts while trying to crank. Starters draw a lot of amps and that is why cables getting hot. Also make sure all connections clean.
