I have a 2005 Nissan Altima and the air compressor has went out on it is there a way I can bypass it with a shorter belt if so what size belt do I need

It might be possible but you will need to mesure the belt size as it will be hard to guess the size needed.
Take a peace of a string run it around pulleys like a belt and take the measurement to an auto parts store.
