I have a 2005 Suzuki Verona EX. When shifting into gear, the car slams itself into gear hard. Then when driving, it acts like it is starting off in second or third gear. I can have the pedal to the floor and it does not wind out, rpms don't move, car does not accellerate. I know it is an electrical or computer issue. While having this issue, the faster I drive, the higher the rpms go without downshifting itself. I can be at 70 or 75 mph and the rpms will stay around 4000. Cruise control is also affected while having this problem. Set the cruise, and it accelerates and deccelerates like it doesn't know where it is supposed to be set or like it can't maintain at a steady speed. Can anybody help on this issue?
you cant fix any A./T with out a scan tool ! the TCM brain will spit out errors that are KEY to accurate diagnosis. buy a tool rent one get it scanned barrow one or get car serviced.
even a dirty VSS sensor can do that. TCM cant see road speed or is reading wrong. clean it. it gets magnetic mud on end, clean off the mud, and try. it. free fixes. can work. but... no scans NO JOY , mostly.
Run the fault codes to determine the fault are a first next check the vacuum hose for the transmission actuator as that unit has a lot to do with shifting ratios
