I have a 2005 trailblazer the key will not turn at all but when i insert the key all of the dome and dash lights come on but my driveway is nearly impossible to tow out of and the shifter will not go into neutral so i wold like to bypass this all by hotwiring the car so i can take it somewhere to get it looked at im hoping then the shifter will release so how can i hiotwire the trailblazer?
Check to see if your brake lghts come on when you depress the brake pedal. A faulty brake light switch is usually the cause of this. The brake light switch located on the brake pedal arm.If the brake lights come on then its not the brake light switch problem.-------------Also check your parking/neutral safety switch beacsue sometiem it goes bad and it locks the transmission in park . The gear shifter may not be fully in park also sometimes if the steering wheel is jaming try to move steering wheel and check vehicle is fully in park .But if gear shifter is fully in park mode and its not coming to neutral then this may have the shift lock energized...you can disconnect the shifter cable from the shift lever on the trans,to mechanically move it to neutral.---------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
