I have a 2006 dodge cummins 5.9 its got a 6" lift and 37" tires, 4" dual exhaust, brute force intake, and the diablosport predator stacked with the extreme power puck.........truck runs great but will not do a power brake burn off....why???????????? is their something de-horseing the motor when the brake is depressed?????????
I would be looking at my torqe converter if you have horse power you have to connect it to the wheels in lock up, you converter doesnt sound like its doing it job,I hope this fixes your problem, thanks
First of all..why do you want it to do that? It is not good for your truck or your tires, and sorry I ask, because I have a son that is into the same stuff, so here goes. Make sure your back brake adjustment is not too tight...this will be the most common cause of your problem. Your brake proportioning valve is designed to deliver more pressure to your front pads, however if the back brakes are a 32nd of an inch too tight, you will lock up the rears as well. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!
No sensor, also the 37" tires have a bearing on this, the lower the profile, the more torque to the ground. No sensor, also the 37" tires have a bearing on this, the lower the profile, the more torque to the ground.
My first guess would be the 37" tires are very large/wide and causing excesive traction. You only get a break burn out when the tires are able to break traction and spin freely. You were probably able to do this just fine with the stocks on and unless you add another 100-200 on the HP and torque those 37's will be very hard to spin on dry pavement. I ahve a powerstroke with 33's and i can just barely spin the tires but can light up the stock 265's...
If you can burn the tires with only the front wheels and not brake torque it then its safe to say you have very good brakes and are unable to overpower the brakes. there is no other logic if the truck is running properly. You either need more HP or smaller tires....If you can burn the tires with only the front wheels and not brake torque it then its safe to say you have very good brakes and are unable to overpower the brakes. there is no other logic if the truck is running properly.
