I have a 2008 ford fusion and it failed inspection because they could not get any readings for the emission test. It is not communicating at all what can I do to fix this problem?
The obd is not communicating with the computer when scanning. It is not giving any readings or codes. What can be wrong?

Check your fuses and replace any that are blown. Usually the cigarette lighter fuse also powers the DLC (data link connector) with this fuse blown the scan tools can not communicate with the OBD2 system.
Thanks for the solution but it didnt work. The mechanic at my job checked the cigarette lighter fuse and said it was ok. Maybe he doesnt know what to look for. My lighter works because i charge my cell phone on it. What now? Dont want to take it to the dealer yet. They will charge me alot to fix. The warranty on that expired at 80,000 my car has 102,000 miles.
