I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe with clunking concern. A tech at a shop examined and concluded the front shocks are going bad with leaking on the front shocks, and recommended to replace them. He said they are wet all around. I called a Chevy dealership in Centreville, Va and dropped it off for it, and got a answer they found the condition was not met to claim and cleaned them out of the shocks from a service adviser. I was told to come back in 1,000 mile or so, and when I asked the extended GM warrantee will be done at 100,000 mile. and then he talked me to come back before 100,000 mile. I have the clunking problem over the bumps. Is this correct procedure to take care of the problem?

No shock absorbers are an integral part of the safe driveability of the vehicle shock absorbers with oil leaks are failed and should be replaced asap suggest that you get firm with the dealer and demand that they be replaced if you have an extended warranty that covers the items read the warranty as many extended warranties only cover engine and drive train and not what you have been lead to believe which ever what happens the units need to be replaced it is a strut type suspension it will also affect tyre wear
