I have a 250G external hard drive that all of sudden can't be recognized on my PC or my roommates PC. We took it to Best Buy and the Geeksquad looked at it - couldn't get it to recognize on their system either. They mentioned that they could put it in a new enclosure but couldn't figure out how to get into it...I just need the information off the hard drive badly...thank you! Nerissa

Make sure power adapter of hard drive work fine. Then connect it to computer with usb cable. When you power up the computer press F8 key to enter in safe mode. Some times safe mode fix messup of hard drive issue. Also enable usb legacy 2.0 in bios. For that when you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key to enter in bios. Then go to advanced option and usb configuration enable legacy 2.0 then save settings of bios and exit. Then check . If still same issue then your hard drive need repairing . For that go to nearest service shop and they also give recover service which recover all data on hard drive.
