I have a 320GB transcend external HD. recently it is not getting detected on my win XP sp3 comp. i can feel it spining but no power light though the power light just flashes for a second on connection. please help i have all my backup on it. thanks

I had the same Problem....
1.Replace the USB cable .I replaced it and it worked.
2.If not try replacing the C:\windows\system32\driver\USBStor.sys and C:\windows\inf\USBStor.inf files
3.Also ensure the environment PATH :
SYSTEMROOT=C:\windows
Run the installation CD along with transcent external HD or down load form net
