I have a 3com ethernet network card but i do not have the driver for it. knbow how i can get it for my desktop? i am using my laptop and desperately need to get online with my desktop. do i have to tell my desktop i installed the network card?
Yes, tell your computer "I have the driver now" and it should work. But seriously, what you need to do, I'm estimating you are using Windows as your operating system, is go to 3com web site. Download the driver. Then Hold the Windows Key and press Pause/Break key to open up the System Properties, and get over to the Hardware tab, and open up the Hardware Devices. Next to your ethernet card should be a yellow exclamation mark meaning you need the driver, double click that ethernet card to open up it's properties box. And install the driver, locate where you downloaded it to and OK the box out. It should now be installed. Possibly might need to reboot after this. Or you can download Ubuntu, and use that as your operating system, and all this is taken care of for you! Hope this helps.
