I have a 4k aquos 55 tv and since I've owned it I've been putting batteries in it for a year straight they will last 1 day then I replace the batteries I could never sit on my couch the remote wont go that far 10 feet I've called and called and got a run around i just wanted a new remote and I'm at my wits end we have purchase numerous batteries over the year i guarantee I've payed off this tv with batteries any ideas
This is not an isolated problem with your TV. A similar issues has affected different brands and models as well and appears to be connected to manufacturers' programming firmware updates. Changing the remote may not fix the issue (new remotes can be polarity sensitive and putting batteries in them the wrong way can damage them which is a plausible reason why they'd start eating batteries) If you think it's a jammed button and don't know how to test it, grab your phone and set it to camera, then aim the remote into the camera - if you see a white light without any buttons being pressed it has a jammed button.
