I have a 5.5 Vertical Briggs and Stratton about 6 years old that is mounted on a woodsplitter. This year it started dieing under load. It's driving a brand new 2 stage 11 gallon pump because I thought that may be the problem. New carb kit was installed with no change. Any idea why the engine may be dieing under load? Oil is fine also

If the generator was used during these 6 years continuously on full or near full load, it may have loosed compression (and derated load).
If you can measure the pump current and compare with the rated of the generator it should be less than the half of the rated to run properly in continuous mode. If it is greater than 75% it may be more than the possible for this generator.
Nevertheless the new fine oil, the overheating or lowering of the oil level during operation may be the reason for stopping.
