I have a 92 ford mustang 5.0 when I start it up for the first time of the day it will back fire in the intake once or twice then will be run fine don't know what woukd be the problem and the timing is right. And also sometimes it won't start you can hear the starter click but won't start has a new starter put in and stills does it
Does the started to chatter? Clean the battery terminals the posts and the clamps they must be shiny on the contact areas. Use enamel spray paint on the terminals to prevent corrosion. Petroleum jelly and grease only cover corrosion and dirt. What is the condition of the battery? Is the electrolyte levels correct? Remember that the levels MUST be only 1/2 inch above the plates. Get the battery tested what is the capacity?
You can hear the starter click but it doesn't do any thing if you get it to roll a little you can pop the clutch and it will start its a brand new battery just got it the other day and a brand new starter I Changed the ignition module but still nothing wires are good and everything just doesn't want to start and some times it will start like nothings wrong for like 3 of 4 days then it stops workingYou can hear the starter click but it doesn't do any thing if you get it to roll a little you can pop the clutch and it will start its a brand new battery just got it the other day and a brand new starter I Changed the ignition module but still nothing wires are good and everything just doesn't want to start and some times it will start like nothings wrong for like 3 of 4 days then it stops working
Gregory hi! It can only be the starter relay I have a Granada and it had a similar problem albeit an older car 1981 model and as spares were scarce I fitted a solenoid and then operate the starter with a push button type switch. On the starter you will notice that there is the fat cable from the battery and a smaller terminal that if connected to the battery cable will cause the starter motor to engage and run. If this happen then there is nothing wrong with the battery and starter motor I hope this helps.Gregory hi!
