I have a 95 cutlass and sometimes it don't start. I turn the ignition and the lights etc come on but that's it. I don't even get any "click" from the starter likes its trying to start. What I have noticed is that when it is going to start up as soon as I turn the ignition I hear a bell ring and then turn it the rest of the way and it starts. When it don't start I don't get that dinging....any ideas?

I also have the same problem with my wife's 1995 Olds Cutless Sepreme. If I put it in Nuetral, it starts sometimes, so I was thinking it might be the nuetral safety switch. Try putting your car in nuetral and see if it starts consistantly. If it starts every time in nuetral, then it's more than likely the nuetral safety switch.
I had the same problem with my 1995 Cutlass Supreme. Finally it would not start at all and I noticed the security light on the dash would not go off after I turned the key. It wound up being the ignition switch. I replaced it and no problems. The only trouble is that your old ignition keys do not work with the new switch.
