I have a 96 Chevy k1500 5.7 with a 4l60e with 25*** on it. I was on my way home from work out of no where when it went into 3ed gear my rpms went up to 4000 and won't go past 30mph just like I was in 4 low. It was fine before this happened. r 1st and 2nd is fine can any one help he out on this

Rear tail shaft sensor .drives side of trans .
That is in limp mode, so you can drive slow short distance for help
Get a scan done on it
Usually fluid level low & or solenoid failure.
