I have a 97 buick century. no power at all so i assume i have a dead battery. went to pull hood release and it wont release at all. when i try to pull it, feels tight and even that if i pull any harder i might break it. what can i do to open hood and replace battery?

Try having a friend pre down hard on the bonnet as you pull the handle. If that opens it ,use oil, grease ,spray grease on the latch
