I have a 99 buick lesabre 3.8 im having random misfire (tested at auto parts store) I have changed the cat converter, plugs, wires control module, and both upstream and downstream co2 sensors and still have same problem any ideas
While the timing may be set by the PCM, it has to get information on the crankshaft position from somewhere. If the info it is getting is wrong or a crankshaft sensor is faulty, then the ignition timing will be out. While the timing may be set by the PCM, it has to get information on the crankshaft position from somewhere. The crankshaft sensor touching the metal will make misfire . Have a look to sensor.
Get the ignition timing set up properly.
