The more info the better! Don't apologize for that, most people using this service don't give enough info to even begin to guess what they are asking. I must assume that this is a rebuilt or reconditioned alternator that you installed, so it is not uncommon to get one that isn't up to standards or had faulty parts. So my recommendation is to take it back to the parts store and exchange it. I've never had any argument from any of them for doing this. When you reinstall it make sure that you get all of the connections secure and properly tension the drive belt. I had a '98 but don't recall if the regulator was integrated with the alternator or separate. If separate, that could also give you problems. Make sure your battery ground is in good condition with no corrosion at the battery or along the length of the cable. Good luck.
I was thinking it was the alternator to but wasent sure..it is rebuilt i talked to someone at adavanced auto and they said as long as its charging they can't do anything thankyou for the post ill check the connections/grounds tomorrowI was thinking it was the alternator to but wasent sure..it is rebuilt i talked to someone at adavanced auto and they said as long as its charging they can't do anything thankyou for the post ill check the connections/grounds tomorrow
