I have a battery backup for my Zoeller Switch mate pump, which we just recharged - it is several years old. Re-hooked it up, but it's still not working when we dumped water into the sump hole. It also has an electrical plug, but that doesn't seem to be working either. Is there a re-set button or something?

as you say this unit has not been used for years
possible cause for not working : when battery are not used for long time it almost impossible to recharge them .
if you plug is fitted with fuse check for corrosion at the fitting point also check that fuse it ok.
most probably is that the impeller of the pump is jammed where corrosion has taken place and or if left unclean when last used (years back ) the slug may well stops it from spinning
