Welcome to Fixya. May i know which cable you are using is it the HDMI or the Composite Video Cable.
If your using HDMI please set the input via HDMI 1 or HDMI 2 on your TV using the TV remove. And if your using the Composite cable please set the Input to Video 1, Video 2, or AV.
First connect the TV to a DVD player and see if the DVD is going to display on the TV. Also, if possible, connect the ,media player to another player and observe if it's going to display. This is to know where the problem is actually coming from so that we can focus on the right part.
I think this has to do with the wire connection between the media player and the TV. It is possible that the video cord is defective and this can make the display blank.
You can try another cord or use the component connection part of the media player.
Let me know what happens after preforming the task above.
