I am familiar with these sets having worked for Sharp for 2 years
The problem is the software has got corrupt
It needs to be upgraded
This is done through the RS232 port on the rear of the set using a laptop and special programming software.
If you want a fix that isn't as permanent as the above let me know, its a reset for the software and it usually lasts about 3 to 6 months.
Temporary Procedure - More often it would work.
To enter the service menu you can have the set in standby
Then you hold down AT THE SETS OWN KEYBOARD the VOL MINUS and INPUT button, then power the set up all the while holding down them 2 buttons until the set comes on
You should see a K in the corner of the screen (if you dont repeat the procedure)
Then in a quick motion press VOL MINUS and CHANNEL MINUS this will bring up the service menu
You then need to scroll through the menus until you reach a menu that has EEP CLEAR
and EEP CLEAR B,its the EEP CLEAR B you need to activate you pick it out then OK it
DONT PRESS EEP CLEAR AS IT WILL BRICK THE SET,JUST EEP CLEARB ONLY
Then you need to scroll through the menu again until you come to FACT INI select it then press ok wait for 30 seconds when you do this
Then switch off the set wait 2 minutes and then power up again
If your watching through an aerial all channels will be lost and you will have to re-tune
