I have a BRAND NEW $80 Sunbeam 'turbo'iron. I thought I had the distilled water bottle I keep to fill it, when ,in fact some one had replaced the distilled water bottle with a one that had previously had apple juice in it. Now my brand new iron spews out a dark brown residue. I tried vinegar, but it didn't help much. A neighbor told me to get Brew Rite coffee pot cleaner and, follow the directions. Will this be safe for the iron? That is if I haven't ruined it already
Hi, your neighbour is right , ''Use citric acid. It has to be diluted 12-18 grams (2-3 tablespoons) of powder to one litre of fresh water, and used as per machine de-scaling instructions. hope this helps
