I have a Broksonic DVD-VHS 900A . Manufacture date October 2004...purchase in early 2005 and stored in my closet until-about a year ago...Now hooked up to my Dish Satellite and DVR.....Using the recommended DVD-R I am able to record and playback on the Broksonic......but UNABLE TO PLAYBACK ON ANOTHER DVD PLAYER OR MY COMPUTER ..How can I correct this problem ??

Due to storage of several months, there is a possiblility to get its Laser Pickup Unit got somewhat opeque due to fungus infection. Put a head cleaning disc in it, and play it for two or more times. This will wipe out the the open surcace of Laser Pickup Unit's lens. Now the recording,may not have much intensity to take by other devices although it writes. Laser beam that comes from the laser unit will be weak now. OK.
