I have a Canon version of Roxio My DVD. I connected camcorder to computer and in the software I chose "Add Files". The computer said it was importing and then I was able to see the edit window and play the video. When I closed it asked if I wanted to save changes but since I made none, I declined. Later, when I went into the computer to find where the video was, it seemed to be nowhere. It appears that it only imported to a temp file and then because I didn't save changes it disappeared. I did a search on computer for .mpv files and couldn't find it

There have been many problems with Roxio. But you should save anything you were working on. You also might consider upgrading to Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite. It has less problems and has been improved to prevent accidental deletion. Also did you hit end program without waiting for the program to shut down?
